How does your degree support your career?
My time as an AAE major introduced me to the international development sector and gave me a great base of knowledge of the field. I gained the vocabulary, core concepts, analytical thinking, and some data skills used in my day-to-day work.
What drove you to your field?
A passion to try and assist and improve the lives of those in the Global South who by no fault of their own have find themselves in impoverished situations. This drive, coupled with my faith, has led me to work in the international development/humanitarian sector.
What insight do you have for prospective ABM students?
Go for what interests you! (But taking more math or stats never hurts). If I could go back, I would take some more classes in the statistics department or even look into classes in the computer science department.
