AAE would like to congratulate professor Nick Parker, and his co-author Bryan Vadheim, recipients of the 2017 Ralph C. d’Arge and Allen V. Kneese Award for Outstanding Publication in the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. Their article “Resource Cursed or Policy Cursed? US Regulation of Conflict Minerals and Violence in the Congo” was published in the journal in March 2017. The article explores the unintended consequences of U.S. legislation surrounding conflict minerals in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
