Ryo Sakamoto earned a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Kobe University in 2008 and M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics in 2016 from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked for 12 years at Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Japan. His primary research has been evaluating the market performance of food and agricultural industries. His dissertation focuses on the firm conduct under imperfect competition in the US corn seed industry. He will work as an economist with UTokyo Economic Consulting Inc..
