Nouhoum Traoré PhD ’18, wins award from International Association of Agricultural Economics (IAEAE)

Traoré came to the US from Mali as a teenager, knowing no English. He earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hunter College, continuing on to earn a second master’s degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University before pursuing his PhD at UW Madison. In recommending Traoré, the committee cited his dissertation for breaking new ground in understanding the effects of climate and trade disruptions on firms in a developing country, Cote d’Ivoire.
