Xiaodong (Sheldon) Du joined the department as an Assistant Professor in January 2011. He will contribute to campus-wide bioenergy research, teaching and outreach as part of the multi-disciplinary, multi-campus Wisconsin Bioenergy Institute
, which broke ground in November. He is interested generally in issues and trends related to energy, agricultural, and financial markets, as well as their interactions. He will teach Energy Economics (AAE 671) and a lecture course on bioenergy. Before coming to Wisconsin, Du worked as the international livestock analyst with the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development after getting his Ph.D. in economics from Iowa State University.
