I am the Olav F. and Else de Noyer Anderson-Bascom professor of applied economics at UW-Madison. My research fields include environmental economics, economic development, and law and economics.
My research aims to understand the effects, intended and unintended, of policies directed towards the environment and natural resources and the role that markets and property rights play in regulating those effects. I also study the economies of Indigenous communities, and how government policies affect their development.
