Economics of carbon taxes & the I-732 campaign in Washington State, Dr. Yoram Bauman

Wednesday, October 25, 2017
Biotech Center Auditorium (Room 1111) 425 Henry Mall
1:00 pm-2:15 pm

Yoram Bauman, Ph.D., is the "world's first and only stand-up economist." Bauman founded CarbonWA, a non-profit meant to create bi-partison support for a revenue-neutral carbon tax in Washington State. The initiative (I-732) because heavily politicized, with environmental groups uniting against the policy, and ultimately failed in the 2016 election by a wide margin (59% to 41%).

Bauman will discuss the economics of carbon taxes and share lessons learned from the I-732 campaign.
