Admission and Declaring the Major

All students, no matter which school or college they wish to study in, apply to the University of Wisconsin and are divided into their individual colleges after admission. To learn more about the admissions process and admission expectations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison please visit the Office of Admissions website .

To declare the major, students first must contact the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Prof. Randy Fortenbery (trforten@wisc.edu) for guidance on course requirements, career options and departmental policies. Next, go to the Office of Academic Student Affairs (116 Agriculture Hall) to declare the major and finalize the transfer into the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The office of Academic Student Affairs can provide additional information on programs or help students who are unsure of which CALS major to select.
